1. الأهلية
MeCard is an Authorised Regulatory Sandbox Participant approved by the Central Bank of
Bahrain (CBB). During the Sandbox, MeCard is not a CBB licensee; authorisation is limited to
Sandbox testing. By creating an account or using the Services, you confirm that you join as a
V olunteer Customer for the Sandbox test and accept the testing-phase risks and limitations
described in these Terms and in the in-app Sandbox Risk Disclosure.

2. تسجيل الحسابScope & Definitions
These Terms govern your use of MeCard’s app, website, and related services during the Sandbox
Period. Capitalised terms:
- “Services”: the MeCard wallet and prepaid card functions approved for Sandbox testing, as
shown in-app/website. - “Volunteer Customer” (or “you”): an individual who consents to participate in the
CBB-authorised Sandbox test. - “Sandbox Period”: the CBB-authorised testing window and any CBB-approved extensions.
- “Client Money Account”: a segregated account with a CBB-licensed retail bank used solely
for Volunteer Customer funds.
MeCard may update the Services within the Sandbox scope and will reflect live features and
limits in-app/website.

You must meet our eligibility and KYC/AML requirements and provide accurate information.
MeCard may decline or close accounts to comply with law, CBB directions, or risk policies.
4. السلوك المحظور
Current fees are displayed in-app/website before you confirm a transaction. Fees may be updated
from time to time and will be shown prior to completion. Taxes, if any, are your responsibility.
5. الملكية الفكريةLimits (Sandbox)
Customer counts and transaction caps (per-customer or aggregate) are set by the CBB for Sandbox testing and may change. Current limits are shown in-app/website. MeCard may adjust limits immediately to comply with CBB directions or for security/compliance reasons. Limits may be lower than typical production services.
6. إخلاء المسؤوليةFunding, Client Money & Refunds
- Client Money. V olunteer Customer funds are held in a Client Money Account with a CBB-licensed retail bank. MeCard keeps per-customer records and applies controls over these funds.
- Funding methods. Top-ups and refunds use methods shown in-app/website and may be restricted during Sandbox.
- Refunds/settlement. Upon closure or Sandbox end, MeCard will refund available balances to your original payment source or a nominated account, subject to legal checks and applicable network/bank rules.

You must use the Services lawfully and not for prohibited purposes (e.g., illegal activities, fraud, abuse, sanctions evasion). You are responsible for keeping your device and credentials secure and for transactions you authorise. You agree to promptly report unauthorised transactions, errors, or suspected fraud via the app or support@mecard.io.
8. التغييرات على الشروطDisputes & Chargebacks
MeCard handles disputes in line with applicable card/network rules and law. Submit disputes through the in-app flow or support@mecard.io within the timeframes MeCard displays in-app. Outcomes depend on network/bank rules and evidence available.
9. الإنهاءSuspension, Blocking & Closure
MeCard may suspend or close access if required by CBB directions, Sandbox conditions, law, or for security/operational reasons (e.g., suspected fraud, system incidents). Where law allows, MeCard will notify you as soon as practicable.
10. القانون الحاكمSandbox Duration, Changes & Exit
The Sandbox runs for a limited period; any extension requires CBB approval. The CBB may amend or terminate the Sandbox authorisation at any time, and we must comply immediately. If the Sandbox ends, MeCard will cease Sandbox activities and return available balances subject to legal checks and network/bank rules.
11) Communications & Notices
MeCard communicates via the app, website, and email. Some notices are service-critical and cannot be opted out of. You agree to keep your contact details up to date. For support, contact support@mecard.io.
12) Privacy & Confidentiality
MeCard processes personal data under the Bahrain PDPL and our Privacy Policy. MeCard observes CBB confidentiality requirements. See the Privacy Policy on www.mecard.io.
13) Intellectual Property
The Services, software, content, and trademarks are owned by MeCard or its licensors. You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app for personal, lawful purposes.
14) Liability & Disclaimers (Sandbox)
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” during Sandbox testing. To the extent permitted by law, MeCard is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses. Without limiting the foregoing, MeCard is not liable for Sandbox-specific limitations, including testing-period feature constraints, temporary caps, or testing suspensions required by the CBB, nor for events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Applicable Law.
15) Third-Party Services & Links
MeCard is not responsible for third-party websites, services, or content, even if linked from our app/site. Your use of third-party services is subject to their terms and policies.
16) Complaints
Contact support@mecard.io. You may also raise a complaint with the Central Bank of Bahrain through its consumer channels, in line with applicable guidance.
17) Changes to These Terms
MeCard may update these Terms during the Sandbox to reflect law, CBB directions, or service changes. MeCard will post updates in-app/website; for material changes MeCard may also notify by email or in-app message. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
18) Product Schedules (Sandbox)
From time to time, MeCard may make certain features available to some Volunteer Customers during the Sandbox Period. Where a Product Schedule is published below or in-app/website for a feature, that schedule forms part of these Terms only for customers who have that feature enabled.Features may be paused, changed or withdrawn at any time to comply with CBB directions, law or security requirements. If there is any conflict, the relevant Product Schedule prevails for that feature; otherwise these Terms apply.
Schedule A — Virtual Cards (Sandbox)
- What it is. A network-branded virtual card for online/in-app purchases (no physical card).
- Use. Valid for lawful purchases only; no cash advance/ATM, no card-present use. Card network rules and merchant terms apply.
- Controls. View, freeze/unfreeze, or replace credentials in-app. Keep credentials secure.
- Fees & limits. Shown in-app/website before you confirm and may change; limits may be lower than production services.
- Disputes. Handled under applicable network rules and law; outcomes depend on network/bank rules and evidence available.
Schedule B — Internal Transfers (MeCard-to-MeCard) (Sandbox)
- Scope. Person-to-person transfers are available within MeCard only. No IBANs and no transfers to/from external bank accounts during Sandbox.
- Processing. Transfers may be instant or near-real-time; once sent and accepted, they may be irreversible.
- Fees & limits. Displayed in-app before confirmation and may change.
Schedule C — Top-ups via Payment Gateway (Sandbox)
- Methods. Credit/debit cards and Apple Pay via supported gateways/schemes shown in-app. No cash, no bank transfer top-ups during Sandbox.
- Processing. Subject to gateway/network approvals; a top-up may be reversed by the issuer/network in case of chargebacks or disputes.
- Fees & limits. Displayed in-app/website before confirmation and may change.
Schedule D — Youth Accounts (Sandbox)
- Eligibility. For customers under 18 with a verified parent/legal guardian who is a MeCard customer. The guardian provides consent and may manage permissions and limits.
- Controls. Guardian-managed spend limits, funding sources and allowed merchant categories (as available in-app).
- Included features. Savings pots, Chores & Allowances, internal transfers (as applicable). Features may be limited during Sandbox.
- Fees & limits. Displayed in-app before confirmation and may change.
- Changes/closure. MeCard or the guardian may suspend/close a youth account; MeCard may end or change the feature to comply with CBB directions or law.
Schedule E — Savings (Parents & Kids) (Sandbox)
- Nature. Non-interest-bearing savings “pots” within your MeCard wallet. Funds in pots remain part of your wallet balance and can be moved back into your spend balance in-app (subject to any limits).
- Availability. Limits, lock/unlock options and any fees are shown in-app and may change.
- No deposit protection. Savings pots are a product feature of the Sandbox wallet and are not a bank deposit or investment.
Schedule F — meAssistant (AI) (Sandbox)
- What it is. Optional AI-powered insights (e.g., spend analysis, budgeting prompts). You can turn off AI in-app at any time.
- Use & privacy.meAssistant cannot provide licensed financial or investment advice. All insights are for guidance only (Informational. MeCard processes data as described in our Privacy Policy. Where service providers support AI, they act on our instructions and must not use your personal data for their own purposes.
Schedule G — Financial Literacy (Sandbox)
- Nature. Educational content and tools to help you understand money basics. For information only; not financial advice. Availability may vary during Sandbox.
Schedule H — Offers & Cashbacks (Sandbox)
- Nature. Promotional only; not guaranteed and may be limited by time, budget, or eligibility.
- Crediting. If earned, rewards are typically credited to your MeCard wallet. MeCard may reverse rewards for refunds, chargebacks or misuse.
- Caps & fees. Per-offer caps and any fees are shown in-app/website and may change.
Schedule I — Not Available During Sandbox
- Not offered: physical cards, ATM withdrawals, IBANs per account, transfers to/from other bank accounts, investments, split bill.
19) Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Courts of Bahrain have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any rights under applicable consumer law.
